Nine Fluffy Miracles: The Shetland Sheepdogs Who Stole Our Hearts
Born different and nearly forgotten, nine Shetland Sheepdogs have been given a fresh start, thanks to the compassion of their supporters. A recent special rescue mission brought these beautiful pups to safety, including two with hearing and vision impairments, under the care of Long Island Sheltie Rescue and a dedicated team of rescuers.
The dogs were surrendered by an owner facing major life changes who wanted the best for their pets, especially the seniors and those with special needs. Among them were two double merles, a genetic pattern that can lead to congenital issues such as deafness, blindness, or both, making their rescue even more urgent.
Now, these Shelties are in the hands of experts who understand their unique needs and are committed to placing them in loving, experienced forever homes. Each tail wag and gentle nuzzle is a testament to the power of rescue and community support.
