In Memory of Seuk: A Legacy That Took Flight

This rescue flight was more than a transport mission; it was a memorial tribute. On the one-year anniversary of Seuk Kim’s passing, our team took to the skies in his honor, joined by a coalition of volunteer pilots and rescue partners across the Southeast.

Seuk dedicated his life to saving animals. He was fearless, compassionate, and unwavering in his belief that every life mattered. On November 24, 2024, he tragically lost his life in a plane crash while transporting dogs to safety. One year later, his legacy continued to inspire action, determination, and hope.

In recognition of Seuk, the volunteer group known as Seuk’s Army set a goal to rescue 100 animals. Together, we exceeded that number. A total of 159 dogs and cats were saved, including 55 who flew aboard our aircraft.

With PTTR pilots Stephen Nur and Michael Nuzback at the controls, our team traveled from South Carolina to Virginia and Connecticut, delivering animals to rescue partners including East Coast Canine Rescue Inc., Margaret’s Saving Grace Bully Rescue, Middleburg Humane Foundation, Cause 4 Paws, SAFE Pet Rescue Inc., Salty Paws Brigade, Wings of Freedom Animal Rescue, and SFC Virginia.

From tiny six-pound kittens to gentle giants nearing one hundred pounds, every animal aboard moved one step closer to a safe and loving future. Among them were Atlanta, Savannah, and Macon, who were welcomed by Margaret’s Saving Grace.

This mission succeeded because of the pilots, fosters, transporters, coordinators, and rescue teams who showed up and carried Seuk’s work forward. Their dedication ensured that his impact continued long after his final flight.

We flew for the ones who could not, and for the one who always did.
