Highway to Hope: 21 Dogs Hit the Road to New Beginnings
Twenty-one dogs left Tennessee behind and traveled all the way to Maryland for a second chance at life.
Our road warriors partnered with Washington County, TN Animal Shelter to carefully load the pups—ranging from tiny six-pound Snail, Slug, and Caterpillar to bigger companions like Chester at 55 pounds and Pokey at 45 pounds. Together, they made the long journey north to Small Miracles Cat and Dog Rescue in Ellicott City, Maryland.
Upon arrival, the dogs were welcomed into safety and began their path toward adoption. Each one was given the opportunity to start fresh, with the hope of soon finding a family to call their own.
This mission was part of a larger effort that spanned just two days, during which two transports brought dozens of animals to safety. It was a true team success—made possible by dedicated shelter staff, transport volunteers, and rescue partners working together across state lines.
Because of this collaboration, 21 more dogs moved one step closer to forever homes and brighter futures.
