Grounded but Not Stopped: Rescue Finds a Way
When the aircraft was grounded, the team stepped up. While en route to Georgia, a major snag forced a mid-air diversion to Tallahassee for emergency avionics repairs. But in true rescue fashion, no lives were delayed.
While Pilots Viking, Brooke, and Michael were grounded, Asheville-based drivers Onn and Alexis jumped into action. They drove overnight to Albany, Georgia, to pick up MoMo and other dogs, rerouted to Atlanta to rescue even more, and then powered through to Virginia, where Seuk’s Army pilots were ready to fly the animals to safety.
Meanwhile, Pilots To The Rescue and Pilots N Paws coordinated with local partners to ensure the AC/DC crew—from Alabama to Virginia—arrived safely. The dogs were placed in foster homes, where they received love, care, and the chance to begin new chapters in their lives.
This mission highlighted what true teamwork in animal rescue looks like: fast pivots, tireless dedication, and a commitment to results. Special thanks to Hartz Loving Paws, whose sponsorship made this mission possible. Thanks also to every volunteer, foster parent, staff member, and organization involved, whose generosity and dedication ensured dozens of animals were rescued, transported, and welcomed into safe, loving homes.
