First Mission in Little Paw Brings 17 Dogs to Safety

Michael and Vas flew to Knoxville, Tennessee, to pick up 17 precious dogs on board our newest addition, Little Paw, marking an unforgettable milestone for Pilots To The Rescue.

Little Paw was generously donated to Pilots To The Rescue by Tom Scholz, and this flight proudly became Little Paw’s very first rescue mission. From the moment the doors closed and the aircraft lifted off the runway, this journey represented more than a transport flight. It symbolized hope, compassion, and a brand new chapter for animals who needed it most.

Thanks to the incredible teamwork and dedication of our partners at FOCCAS Focus on Cumberland County Animal Safety and Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter, 17 dogs, including 12 tiny puppies, were given the chance to leave uncertainty behind and begin their journey toward loving homes and brighter futures.

Every tail wag, gentle whimper, and curious puppy nose reminded us why this mission matters. These dogs were not just passengers on a plane. They were lives full of potential, resilience, and trust in the people who showed up for them when they needed it most. From the shelters that cared for them, to the volunteers who prepared them for travel, to our pilots who safely carried them forward, this mission was a true example of what can happen when a community comes together for animals in need.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make this first flight in Little Paw possible. Watching Little Paw take to the skies for the very first time, carrying so many deserving lives toward safety and love, was a moment we will never forget. This mission marked the beginning of many future journeys for Little Paw, and we cannot wait to see how many more lives will be changed because of it.
