A Life Worth Saving
Another rescue mission unfolded, though not as originally planned. Due to a kennel cough outbreak, only one dog could be safely transported. Even so, a life was a life, and we were grateful that Albert cared deeply enough to complete this mission alongside Seuk's Army and Paws in the Cookie Jar Rescue.
The mission, which had initially been planned to transport fourteen dogs north, shifted quickly as safety became the priority. With the support of our partners, we ensured that the one dog cleared for travel would still make it to a new beginning with Paws in the Cookie Jar.
Among the originally planned passengers had been Ella Rose and Teddy, two pups who spent three weeks being vetted and trained by students at the Tri-County Technical College Veterinary Technology Program in South Carolina. Although their transport was postponed for their health and well-being, the work put into preparing them ensured they would be more than ready once safe travel became possible.
This adjusted mission still required coordination across multiple states, beginning in Culpeper, VA, and moving north to ensure the dog entrusted to us reached the right place at the right time.
This mission also marked a meaningful milestone, as Albert completed his 1,000th rescue for PTTR. His dedication and compassion continued to inspire everyone involved.
Rescues like this depended on constant teamwork, commitment, and support from an entire network of people. We remained deeply grateful to everyone who played a part in ensuring that even one life was given the chance it deserved.
