Flying into fall, we're excited to share a major milestone you helped us reach: Pilots To The Rescue has flown over 100,000 miles so far this year! That's the equivalent of about 3,800 marathons!

Each mile represents a step toward something every animal deserves: a second chance.

But for every furry life we've flown to safety, there are many more still waiting. Now, we have a pivotal opportunity to change that.

Today, we’re ready to take our biggest leap yet: adding a second rescue plane like Big Paw to our fleet! With two planes, we can fly twice as many missions and reach twice as many animals when they need us the most.

But we need your help to get it off the ground.

Mr. Chancey had a number of rescue dogs throughout his life, and each held a special place in his heart and in the lives of his family. Like many of you, he believed in giving animals the care, compassion, and second chances they all deserve.

Today, you can join thousands of fellow animal lovers in our Pilots To The Rescue community helping to carry that legacy forward.

Every dollar you donate today until December 31st will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $250,000...bringing us closer to the moment when our second rescue plane takes off, carrying more animals toward a brighter future.

A Last-Minute Upgrade for Mama Helen

When Helen arrived at a shelter in South Carolina, the odds were stacked against her.

She was a heartworm-positive, large-breed dog, and was quickly placed on an overcrowded shelter’s euthanasia list.

But because of our freedom flight, she received a full medical exam, which showed something incredible: Helen was two weeks away from giving birth!

Helen was quickly moved to the top of our priority list because no mother should have to bring her puppies into the world on a cold shelter floor.

Helen and her puppies deserved warmth, comfort, and a safe place to land.

During the 1,300-mile freedom flight from South Carolina to Pennsylvania, Helen stole our flight crew’s heart.

“Helen flew next to me in First Class, accepting every ear scratch and gentle pat on the head,” shares Jennifer Xu, Pilots To The Rescue’s Director of Development. “She even gently gave me her paw as if to say, ‘Thank you for saving my little ones.’”

Just a few days after landing and settling into her foster mom's cozy home, Helen welcomed her first tiny pup into the world. Then came more...and more...and more. Would you believe Helen delivered 12 healthy puppies (six boys and six girls)!

Twelve puppies is a Pilots To The Rescue record!

Brave mama Helen has a dozen reasons to smile, including Dolly filling her belly with breakfast.

“We hosted a baby shower for Helen, and our community showered her with so much love,” shares a shelter partner volunteer. “With so many tiny bellies to fill, we are bottle-feeding alongside Helen to give her a hand.”

Today, Helen is doing wonderfully. She completely adores her foster family, who will care for her and her puppies until they are old enough to join their fur-ever families!

More than a decade ago, Pilots To The Rescue's first mission changed everything for a group of puppies abandoned in a ditch.

One plane changed thousands of lives.

Imagine what two planes can do.

Lil Bit Finds Her Co-pawlet Wings

At a mere 16 pounds, Lil Bit experienced major heartbreak. Earlier this year, her owner was incarcerated and forced to surrender her.

With her world turned upside-down overnight, Lil Bit feared the worst. Would she ever feel happy and loved again?

Luckily, thanks to YOUR support, Lil Bit's second chance took flight. Pilots To The Rescue's Founder and Chief Pilot Michael Schneider along with volunteer co-pilot August took to the skies to carry Lil Bit to her new chapter: the safe, loving home she deserves.

Just look how joyful she is taking in the paw-some panoramic view from the flight deck!

It's as if she knew the sky was the limit for her.

Today, Lil Bit is thriving in her foster home. Whether she’s playing fetch, cuddling with kids, or making fast friends with her foster dog siblings, Lil Bit’s resilient spirit shines through.

“This sweet girl is the total package,” says her foster mom, Dee Dee. “She’s social, loving, and always up for whatever is on today’s schedule...especially if it involves a car ride with the windows down!”

From Blueberry Farm To Freedom Flight

Saved off the euthanasia list, Labrador mix Lanie had a difficult start to her journey. She was found abandoned at a blueberry farm.

The owner of the farm discovered Lanie wandering alone, confused, and panting from thirst. She did her best to make Lanie feel comfortable, but she was herself a bit frail and quickly realized that she couldn’t provide the necessary care that this big, energetic girl needed.

So she made the heartbreaking but deeply compassionate decision to entrust her future with Pilots To The Rescue, giving Lanie the best chance at finding a new, loving home.

On the day of her freedom flight, volunteer pilot August couldn't help noticing Lanie.

“With her rich chocolate-brown coat and striking amber eyes, she looked stunning on the tarmac. You could tell Lanie was staring straight ahead, focused on her future.”

And what a future it was. Instead of wondering where her next sip of water would come from, Lanie was about to board our rescue plane headed toward safety, love, and a family of her own.

Because of your support, Lanie and her fellow paw-ssengers including Helen and her 12 puppies were lifted to safety that day...a total of 27 furry lives saved by one freedom flight!

Every mile we fly is fueled by co-pilots like you who believe that no animal should be defined by how their story began.

Double the planes.

Double the missions.

Double the furry lives saved.
