Dear Pilots to the Rescue Team,

I’m reaching out with a desperate plea for help with a rescue mission for a dog named Aleah. Aleah was scheduled to be euthanized today in Texas. After an exhausting day of trying to find an approved rescue willing to tag her, we finally have a path forward. My friend in Texas is able to pull her and keep her temporarily, but we now urgently need to find a way to get Aleah from Texas to her new home in Minnesota. We have a very small window.

My friend can only keep Aleah until Sunday, so we are hoping and praying that a pilot may be willing to bid on her rescue mission and help get her home before then. I would make the drive myself if I could, but I’m currently on maternity leave with my exclusively breastfed 3-month-old son. The drive from Minnesota to Texas and back would be approximately 18 hours of driving with an infant, which simply isn’t a realistic or ideal option right now.

My friend is willing to meet us partway, but we still need help bridging the distance. I’m an LVT and have worked at Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota since 2014, currently as an oncology veterinary nurse. I’m also involved in animal rescue and wildlife rehabilitation, and I know firsthand how many people it takes to give an animal a second chance.

Aleah was supposed to die today. Instead, she has someone fighting for her, a home waiting for her, and a chance at the life she was meant to have. We just need help getting her the rest of the way there. If there is any possibility of a pilot bidding on Aleah’s rescue mission, or if there is anything we can do to make this mission possible, we would be beyond grateful. Thank you for the incredible work you do to give rescue animals a second chance. I know you receive countless requests, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to consider Aleah. We are just hoping someone will see her story and decide she is worth the flight. ❤️✈️
