Charlotte is a domestic pet duck who was dumped and left in a pond, where she would not have survived long on her own. A compassionate passerby rescued her after noticing her feet were bleeding and unable to heal. A veterinary exam revealed mild bumblefoot that is now healed, but more significantly, Charlotte has an old elbow dislocation that will require lifelong pain management. Transport from SLC to Austin would allow us to continue her medical care, provide a safe long-term setup, and place her with a special-needs sanctuary who can keep her comfortable and pain-free. She will be crated and have a diaper if needed.
