Financials

As a nonprofit organization that is exempt from federal taxation, we are committed to maintaining full transparency with our community. We wouldn’t exist without your support, so it’s very important that we communicate how we spend your precious contributions. Every dollar we receive goes towards essential expenses associated with completing rescues, such as:

1. Fuel: If you thought it was expensive to fill up your gas tank, let’s just say the cost of fueling a single PTTR mission would put your tail in between your legs. Fuel is by far our biggest expense, and it’s where most of our contributions go towards. By supporting PTTR, you are literally keeping our planes in the air.

2. Maintenance: Given the amount of stress we put on our planes, it’s only natural that our equipment needs the occasional tune-up. We don’t fly unless we are 100% sure that every piece of equipment is working properly. Also, since many dogs shed, we rigorously clean our planes after every mission. Climbing onto a plane that smells like other dogs can make it difficult for our paw-ssengers to relax on board.

3. Outreach Programs: We communicate with our donors and prospective donors by email, postal mail, and other means, to request contributions and keep our community updated with our progress. We also spend a small portion of our contributions towards marketing and promotional initiatives to educate the public about the pet overpopulation crisis and the importance of adopting vs. shopping for pets.
